It is said that the temple was founded in the first year of the reign of Emperor Keitai (510). Double-flowered cherry trees and Somei-Yoshino cherry trees are planted along the approach to the temple, and it is known as a famous cherry blossom viewing spot in the spring. There are several giant cedar trees within the temple grounds, with trunks reaching 5-6m in circumference, giving off a mysterious aura. This is a sacred place in the village that has been watching over this land since ancient times.
