OMOYA Soryo is not simply a place to stay. It was created as a place to reconnect with the quiet rhythms of rural life— to rediscover a sense of time and presence through your own senses.
The goal is not preservation for its own sake. Rather, it is to reshape what exists into a form that can continue to be lived in, now and into the future. Every aspect of the space—its layout, flow, and materials—has been reconsidered with this in mind. This house is also where the owner’s father was born and raised. Instead of keeping it as a private memory, it has been reimagined as a place to be carried forward and shared. Much of the process has been carried out by the owner’s own hands. Not simply altering what was there, but carefully discerning what truly belongs in this place, and shaping it over time. The space is designed so that people of all ages and physical conditions can move and stay with equal ease. Rather than embracing inconvenience, the aim is to provide a sense of comfort that allows you to fully engage with the natural surroundings and the architecture itself. Time spent here offers a gentle distance from everyday life— a chance to reset and return to your own sense of balance.
